Velier Long Pond Cambridge STC❤️E
An ester-forward, tropical, and funky Jamaican rum: notes of glue, banana, pineapple, and spice, hitting with robust complexity and a long, warming finish. One to try if you like punchy, well-aged spirits with wood and ester interplay.
Funk, fruit, wood, and spice—complex, bold, unmistakably Jamaican.

How does this rum taste?
- wahnsinniges Aromenaufgebot
- Sehr komplexe Nase
- Sehr gut eingebundener Alkohol
Long Pond Cambridge STC❤️E (Velier) 2005 13yr draws RumX drinkers with a nose full of glue, esters, and tropical fruit—think banana, pineapple, sometimes mango or pear. The palate is big on esters and spice with a notable complexity, while a long, dry, sometimes tannic or salty finish keeps things vibrant. Many call out the high 'fruchtester' and wood influence, with @crazyforgoodbooze finding it 'relativ bitter, Tannin-betont', and @Felix Reiber praising the 'wahnsinniges Aromenaufgebot'. Most see it as a funky, layered sipper balancing fruit, wood, and subtle sweetness, but the bold solvent notes and astringency may be too much for some.

To Long Pond
"Excellent on fresh fruits coated with vanilla and bourbon. 🤤"
"The tropically aged Long Ponds simply have a great flavor profile that I enjoy very much: fruit esters meets wood and an always discreetly present sweetness. This bottling also joins the high quality ranks of Velier bottlings from Long Pond seamlessly. In direct comparison with the 2010 release, it is clearly more powerful, but also more aromatically present - which is not least due to the additional volume percentages. Both play far in front."
"02.05.2024 Retasting and I still love this release a lot. Once rested it releases a wide array of flavours. Would have love more of these bottles in the shelf but unfortunately hard to find or very expensive. --------------- This is a unique and well balanced rum with intensity. Close to the perfect rum!"
"Very nice bottling just as the other NRJ Cambridge bottlings. Intense with lots of funk yet nicely aged in tropical climate. Compared to the 2010 12y, the 2005‘s esters are less pungent and chemicals forward but leaning slightly more towards fruits. Compared to the recent 2005 18y bottling, this is more vibrant with more funk."
