Père Labat rhum, distilled by Poisson in Marie Galante and bottled by Velier, is crafted from sugar cane juice. La bouteille est ouverte depuis longtemps mais globalement c’est très joli. Fraîcheur en début de bouche, longueur interminable et très fruité, belle intégration de l’alcool. Léger souffre au nez sur l’ouverture qui s’estompe rapidement, pas du tout en bouche. Très joli boisé fondu, léger oxydatif sur les fruits à coques pas d’instringence. Marmelade de fruits tropical et jaune. Très bon.
Very round, gallant sweetness paired with nutty-vegetable notes and spicy-roasty barrel influences. Very balanced, perfectly integrated alcohol - almost quaffable. Excellent.
