How does this rum taste?
The J. Bally Distillery's 2003 Millésime rum is an elegant agricole from Martinique, crafted exclusively from sugarcane juice and distilled in a column still. This rum carries a 43% ABV and is celebrated for its sophisticated woody, fruity, and vegetal notes. Users appreciate its balance of freshness and earthy character with hints of leather and pear. While offering a robust agricole presence, it's considered versatile with a smooth introduction to its complex profile, which includes herbal and fruity undertones. Some find it lacks punch and long-lasting depth compared to other contemporaries. Nonetheless, it remains a staple for agricole enthusiasts at a reasonable price point.

Pretty good rum from Bally and you get what you pay for. The Agricole notes are there just in a light version. The nose is warm, fruity and woody with nutmeg, tobacco, leather and a hint of varnish. The palate is also fruity and woody with sugarcane, leather, tobacco and a hint of iodine and flowers. The finish is medium long with wood, spices and dried fruits.
Pleasant relaxed Agricole
Much sweeter and less smoky than the 2008. But still quite short finish unfortunately.
