“La fameuse dégustation du coffret des single cask S.B.S. Le fût # 216. Le nez avec de l’atelier mécanique et un côté métallique, les fruits viennent ensuite. Un nez en puissance mais aussi dans l’élégance. La bouche donne la même sensation, puissance des arômes et élégance. La finale est longue et très Caroni, la meilleure finale des quatre. Le meilleur des 4 avec le fût #53.”

“La comparaison se fait entre les 4 Caronis Single Cask 1997 de chez SBS. Le meilleur des 4 Single Cask présentés dans ce match. Le nez se démarque avec son joli fruité qui vient avec opulence sur les notes empyreumatiques. Vernis, goudron, caoutchouc, cuir et notes fumées se retrouvent enveloppées dans du velours, avec une pointe de sucrosité sur le miel pour donner un ensemble intense et élégant. La bouche fait la différence en proposant un joli panier de fruits tropicaux qui accompagnent la sucrosité, présente déjà au nez, avec le caramel salé, le cacao, la vanille et le piment doux. Les hydrocarbures, le cuir et les notes fumées sont de la partie. Le résultat est là : un rhum complet, plus complexe et raffiné en tout point. L’alcool est très bien intégré. La finale est belle, longue et savoureuse. La chaleur est de mise entre les épices, les notes rôties, les hydrocarbures et le caramel chaud. Ce sont toutefois la noisette et les fruits tropicaux qui volent la vedette avec un petit twist en finale qui fait plaisir au palais. Comme indiqué plus haut, il s’agit du meilleur des 4 Caroni, brillant par ses arômes, sa finesse et sa versatilité.”

“Der Rum ist Teil eines Sets: Fass 53, Fass 190, Fass 193 und Fass 216. Auch hier ist der Alkohol nicht so gut eingebunden. Finde ihn im Gegensatz zum #190 etwas langweiliger. Für das was das Set kostet bzw. mal früher gekostet hat, ist es ein absolut Topp PLV. Da können sich manch neuere Abfüllungen mal über ihren Preis nachdenken. Werde hier nochmal nachlegen!”
