Velier Diamond <S> 1999
A world‑class, heavy Demerara: intensely aromatic, oily and complex with dark chocolate, licorice, dried fruits and polished wood. Long, balanced finish; widely praised as a benchmark Diamond.
Seasoned enthusiasts who love heavy, dark Demerara profiles with licorice, dark chocolate, tobacco and leather at robust ABV and value rarity as much as depth.

How does this rum taste?
Legendary heavy Velier Diamond
If you’re into big, dark Demeraras like old Velier Enmores or Port Mourants, this Diamond pushes that style to the max with extra licorice and wood—intense, but incredibly rewarding.
Beginners, those sensitive to higher ABV or who dislike dark, woody, slightly medicinal profiles; also not ideal for budget‑focused buyers.

Tasted at German Rum Festival 13 For me, this is the best rum i have tasted so far. Absolutely perfectly balanced in terms of taste and alcohol. Fantastic
Incredibly cool device! Dried fig, prune, aged balsamic vinegar, subtle mint and thyme, acacia honey, a little dark chocolate and some rum raisins... Epic! Probably one of the best Guyana rums I've ever tasted to date...
Auto-translatedWow this is a wonderful rum! I don't want to let the fact that this is a unicorn rum make me over rate it but it really is stunning! The smell just leaped out of the glass at me, very intense. On the palate it is just lovely, this is how it all should be! A lovely dark sweetness, licorice, dark chocolate, fruits, leather, lovely oak without being bitter, this is close to perfection for me! Oh and the colour! Beautiful dark mahogany. Long and spicy finish. Well, for my first Velier Demerara I am impressed I hope it keeps up. This is the highest score I have awarded a rum to date, I think it's deserving😊
The best Demerara rum I have tried. The nose is sublime, the finish is long and the complexity is like nothing I have drunk before.
