I have all the rums from Ekte in my collection and they then to pick the casks that are exceptional. This one is also great with a nose with fruit and vanilla. There is also a bit of licorice and wood. The palate is nicely balanced and lightly bitter with fruit, toffee and vanilla topped with toffee and wood/oak. The finish is long with vanilla and oak.
The nose is a bit restrained. A metallic freshness already comes across, but the rest does not show so clearly. Sweet citrus in the direction of tangerine. A slight spiciness, lede and vanilla. On the palate then more of a sweet spice, slightly woody-bitter. Toffee. The palate is clearer than the nose and I like it better. Overall ok.
