How does this rum taste?
Most reviewers are drawn to Santos Dumont XO for its rich sweetness and smooth, dessert-like experience, with honey, vanilla, and coconut leading the flavor profile. Notes of caramel and pineapple add to its distinct, almost confectionery style, making it a favorite as an after-dinner sipper or to share with friends who enjoy sweeter spirits. Highly rated for its approachable character, it's a repeat purchase for those who love a sweet rum and a popular choice among fans of A.H. Riise—though many note it leans heavily into sweetness and can be polarizing for traditionalists.

Even though I’m not a fan of sweetened rum is this quite OK, maybe because it’s produced from sugar cane honey in pot stills and that that gives it another profile. Significant aromas and flavors is bananas, coconut and honey.
tastes somehow sweet, floral & sour like vinegar and Gewürztraminer, together with rubber bananas. Better than the Palmira in direct comparison, but still absolutely not my cup of tea and nothing I need to drink again. Sorry.
Pleasant through and through. Not complex in any way. Just smooth and pleasant. Sweet though, maybe to much in the long run.
