“The nose is still relatively unspectacular, as far as one can speak of a tropically aged Caroni from the over vintage 1996 - but on the palate then rises a real fireworks. Sweetness, spice, borderline smokiness, wood, rubber and tar...I feel well taken care of all around, precisely because this rum definitely has rough edges and also the high alcohol content does not hide and brings out the Caroni-typical notes almost perfectly. Impressive level.”
