Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: The nose is still relatively unspectacular, as far as one can speak of a tropically aged Caroni from the 1996 vintage - but on the palate, there are real fireworks. Sweetness, spice, borderline smokiness, wood, rubber and tar...I feel in good hands all round, precisely because this rum definitely has rough edges and the high alcohol content is not hidden and brings out the typical Caroni notes almost perfectly. Impressive level.
Really great aroma. Top caroni with a real punch on the palate without being unpleasant! Excellent single cask!
Impressive round palate with coconut, vanilla, molasses, ... Some funkyness is brought by candies and slightly sour tropical fruits. Amazing one !
This one really needs a drop of water or two.
