A decent rum, but unfortunately with unremarkable aromas. It remains good for a pleasant tasting, but did not convince me.

Un VSOP qui a des atouts à faire valoir pour un rhum de gamme permanente. Le nez est relativement complet avec des fruits exotiques, des agrumes et des fruits secs, mais aussi du tabac, des notes de fleurs, de la canne à sucre, du caramel, des épices douces et un boisé légèrement toasté. Un profil assez large et intéressant. En bouche, l’association des fruits et des épices domine allègrement, avec des notes de pomme au four, de muscade et de cannelle ainsi que de cardamome. Les fruits exotiques et le boisé caramélisé permettent au profil de gagner en rondeur, tandis que l’influence agricole rappelle le côté sec du profil. L’alcool est bien intégré, mais pourrait être un peu plus puissant. La finale se place aux antipodes du palais, avec une amertume affirmée sur la verdure, des notes plus pimentées, sèches, herbacées et sur le tabac. Ce côté plus clinquant contraste avec le reste du profil qui se voulait plus raffiné et doux. Un bon rhum au profil bien ciselé et disponible à un prix convenable.
