04.03.2017 Whiskymessen by whisky.dk with a few friends and also trying some whisky samples. Notes. Well balanced rum with good balance between the elements. Oily and warm palate with medium to long finish. This was a bottle i brought and it ended up being a bottle kill.
Blindly, I would never have guessed less than 40% here. This bottling is far too complex for that. Great rum!
Roasty, dark and earthy on the nose. Beautiful acidity and lots of leather on the palate. The 38.5% suits the rum well. However, the finish is quite short.
Great Demerara DNA, unfortunately the reduced alcohol comes through a little too much on the palate and makes the profile appear a little thin. However, the fullness of aromas is still impressive at under 40 percent by volume.
