Die Nase überzeugt mich mehr als der Gaumen. Nichts desto trotz ein sehr schöner Long Pond!
03.12.2008 Relaxing with a few clients and a few bottles. Notes Medium dark colour. Nose Fresh, light, light wood, faint roasted, fruity, banana, faint marzipan, light nutts. Palate Light, light wood, fruity, pineapple, light nutts, faint licorice, light marzipan, light coffee. Finish Medium long, wood, fruits, light coffee, anise, light roasted.
Mein erster alter Long Pond. Spannende Nase, die ordentlich Frucht mit vielfältigen Gewürzen mischt, dazwischen etwas Holz und alles sehr harmonisch. Am Gaumen dann weniger Frucht, dafür sehr nussig, trocken und würzig. Erinnert irgendwie ein wenig an Weihnachten. Ein toller Tropfen, einzig die Verdünnung ist etwas schade, wenngleich sie weniger störend auftritt, als dies bei der Mehrheit der Fall ist. Der trockene Abgang verweilt ewig im Mund und erinnert an diesen leckeren Tropfen!
In der Nase noch recht fruchtig und vielschichtig, am Gaumen kommen dann dominante holzig-würzige Noten zum Vorschein, die ein paar leise Assoziationen mit Worthy Park und Port Mourant wecken. Mir gefallen die tropisch gelagerten Long Ponds besser - ein guter Rum, für den es bei mir aber nicht zu den höchsten Weihen reicht.
