The "No6 Guyana" was produced in Guyana at the Uitvlugt distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Ekte Rum. It was distilled in 1992 from Molasses with a Single Wooden Pot Still and then aged for 23 years. The rum has an ABV of 57,7%. This is a limited release and there are only 300 bottles.

“Zu Recht das Guyana-Flaggschiff dieses leider nicht mehr existierenden dänischen Abfüllers. Aber Achtung: anfangs ziemlich unauffällig, braucht extrem viel Zeit zur Entfaltung des Bouquets! Im Paralleltasting mit dem vergleichbaren 18y von Ekte aus dem Jahr 1998 (RX7222) letztlich überlegen, komplexer, auffälliger, metallischer. Gefällt mir sehr gut! Unverständlich, dass es diesen feinen Rum immer noch auf dem Erstmarkt zu kaufen gibt, vielleicht wegen des doch recht hohen Preises. Hidden pearl!”

“Wow, just wow. This is a rum that has been finished in Denmark and they definitely found a unique cask for this one. A wonderful fruity nose with wood and a tad of smoke. Spices are there in the background as well. The palate is wonderful, well balanced and complex. The liquid is oily/buttery and the curtains run down the glass. Again fruit with spices and oak/smoke. The finish is very long and spicy with oak and smoke.”
