Pampero Aniversario
Community likes its sweet caramel-vanilla profile and value, but finds it thin, a bit boozy for 40% and one-dimensional. Overall seen as an easy beginner rum and strong mixer.
Those who enjoy sweet, easy 40% rums and want an affordable bottle for Cuba Libre, rum & cola or simple sipping without needing big complexity.

How does this rum taste?
Sweet beginner rum, great value mixer
If you like Zacapa-style sweetness but want something cheaper for mixing, this hits similar caramel-vanilla notes, just with less depth and a bit more alcohol edge.
Anyone avoiding added sugar, drinkers seeking complex or dry rums, and people sensitive to a sharp alcohol bite even at lower ABV.

What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

The nose is somewhat typical of a central American rum with lots of raisin, caramel and wood. The palate sticks with the nose. Like a raisin reduction drizzled over wood. There's some alcohol burn in there though. The finish is quite subtle, as it all fades away quickly. It's nice with dark chocolate notes but not present for long. Overall its a good rum. I would love to try something from this distillery with more age and at a higher ABV. All of this rums shortcomings could be solved by that.
very good. strong alcoholic taste and a strong caramel scent. taste buds on the side of the mouth.
