How does this rum taste?
Moon Import’s Demerara Rhum Aged 21 Years is a Guyanese spirit with a deep character, aged for over two decades and limited to just 600 bottles. RumX members praise its rich aroma—"a dream," says Johannes—layering dried plums, tobacco, leather, and dark wood. On the palate, expect roasted notes, licorice, and subtle fruit, with a warm, nuanced finish. While some wish for a little more intensity, most agree it carries the signature boldness of classic Demerara rums. For those seeking rare and complex flavors, you can explore and find this bottle through RumX.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Complex profile with a wonderful balance of dark fruit notes, dried plum, tart woodiness and heavy sweetness. This is probably a 1964 vintage, which is also true in terms of taste. Outstanding Demerara!
The nose is a dream. Should be a 64 Port Mourant in terms of taste. Great profile, unfortunately a little thin after the cadenhead64. More on the woody side, not a fruit bomb.
According to my information, this bottling was bottled in 1985. Would therefore have to be a 1964 or younger PM. And that also fits the flavor profile of Cadenhead's 1964 PM only in diluted form
This really has the vibe of the small skeldon brother. burned sugar, maritime notes and a lot of fresh rubber. on the palate it continues, although the rubber turned into talkum. a very warm and spice filled finish. great
