The "Kill Devil" was produced in Trinidad. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Hunter Laing. It was distilled in 1991 from Molasses and then aged for 23 years. Durchaus gefällig. Auf keinen Fall ein Caroni, keine typischen Caroni-Marker. Aber auch nicht typisch T.D.L, jedenfalls verspüre ich keine Menthol-/Minzenoten. Ten Cane? Nee, gab es 1991 wohl nicht. Hmm, also vermutlich doch ein T.D.L, der aber mit den Abfüllungen ab der Jahrtausenwende kaum etwas gemein hat, trotzdem kein schlechter Rum ist.
Bisschen nichtssagend. Aber gut. Auf 46% sind diese 1991er TDLs wirklich kaum noch von Foursquare zu unterscheiden.
31.07.2021 A nice tasting held by a bygone spirits shop. Notes Light in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, fruits, cherry, faint smoke, faint tar. Palate Oily, wood, faint smoke, dried fruit, cherry, light esters, faint floral. Finish Medium to long, wood, light ester, oily, fruits, light earthy. Extra note. Need to rest for a good while or add a few drops of water to open up the experience.
An der Nase sehr zurückhaltend. Eine leichte Fruchtigkeit mit Holz und einer süße die aber nicht zu aufdringlich wirkt. Am Gaumen fehlt ihm für meinen Geschmack etwas an Power, viel Holz, angenehme getrocknete Früchte, leichte Süße und eine milde, leichte Bitterkeit im Abgang.
