Mount Gay S.B.S Barbados 2000
Highly praised as a dry, oak‑driven Barbados with peaches, orange peel and vanilla. Characterful, evolving, and complex, especially rewarding with time and a little water.
Fans of dry, oak‑driven Barbados who enjoy peaches, orange zest and light tar/rubber notes at higher ABV, and who appreciate unsweetened, complex single barrel releases.

How does this rum taste?
Dry, woody, complex Barbados sipper
If you like drier, characterful Barbados or lightly dirty profiles (think Mount Gay with a Caroni twist), this rewards patience in the glass and a drop of water.
Those sensitive to stronger alcohol, drinkers who prefer sweet and soft Barbados rums, or anyone who dislikes dominant wood, dryness and slightly dirty/tarry notes.

Just finished a nice evening going through some of the samples we got from 1423.
Slightly bitter wood notes meet a pleasantly sweet fruit mix. On the nose, I think a bit of Cointreau. For a better rating, the alcohol should not be so noticeable in the finish.
