„Nicht sehr facettenreich aber dennoch irgendwie spannend. Im Geruch schon leichte Noten von verkohltem Holz, was sich im Geschmack mit einer alkoholischen Schärfe ausprägt. Klingt so erstmal nicht lecker, das Wechselspiel ist aber interessant und fordernd. Dafür das ich ihn als easy sipping in Erinnerung und in meinen Notizen hatte, war ich sehr überrascht. Vielleicht Tagesform. Gesamtpaket mit Flasche und Karton ist wirklich klasse. Preis Leistung ist auch sehr gut. Trotz schwieriger Bewertung kann ich den 1914er empfehlen.“
