"A quality Saint James, with a particularly fruity nose. Apple and dried fruit mingle with honeyed sugar cane, spices (cinnamon) and woody, toasty notes to create a nose that is at once greedy, elegant and pleasant. The attack on the palate returns to a darker profile of woody, spicy and caffeinated notes. Candied cane and caramel mingle with a lightly fruity frame to offer something round and controlled, all in the spirit of Saint James. The finish is slightly earthier, with hints of walnut, toast and sweet spices. The finish lacks the roundness and depth of the rest. A pleasant, well-balanced rum, offering a little more indulgence and slightly more exotic aromas than the distillery can offer in its permanent range."
"This is a perfect rum for a 7 year one. We'll balanced in acidity and sweetness. Wonderful rum that I can recommend. "
"The first impression on the nose is of wood and cane. On the palate, the woodiness remains very present, which for me is a very strong marker of Saint-James. Nuts take over, followed by particularly smoky aromas. The fairly long finish lingers on fresh cane."
""The gateway to the SAINT JAMES Distillery trilogy of age accounts, this Très Vieux Rhum Agricole is the fruit of a minimum of 7 years' controlled aging in a tropical climate in our cellars. The notes of roasting developed in contact with selected small oak barrels evolve towards a warm finish of sweet spices". Marc Sassier, Saint James oenologist COLOR: Mahogany-copper NOSE: An initial nose of sweet spices (cinnamon on a vanilla background) mingled with dominant dried and candied fruits. PALATE: Tannins add length, carrying roasted notes to a warm finish. How to enjoy? Source: Rhum Saint James"
