Poisson Père Labat 8 Ans Très Vieux
Most praise its fresh, complex agricole profile and dry woody-citrus palate; critics find it thin, short and overpriced. Consensus: a solid, characterful sipper if you accept the lighter 42%.
Agricole fans who enjoy dry, woody, slightly bitter profiles with citrus, green notes and a touch of pineapple rather than sweetness; ideal for rum drinkers stepping deeper into French island styles.

How does this rum taste?
Dry, elegant agricole for patient sippers
If you enjoy dry, characterful agricoles like Reimonenq or Bellevue and don’t mind 42%, this rewards slow sipping with its woody-citrus, slightly salty profile after a good rest in the glass.
Beginners expecting sweet, vanilla-heavy rum, or drinkers who dislike vegetal bitterness, shorter finishes or 42% agricoles that feel a bit light for the price.

Pomme en finale. Un vieux calvados !
Not too bad and the price is OK.
Contrary to the other comments I have read, I find it a bit "light" on the nose, but it is still very pleasant. Also in the mouth where the aromas are powerful and very good. Average length.
Incredibly cool agricole with a super atypical aroma profile. Nose: toffee, burnt caramel, dried apricots, tonka bean and fully ripe pineapple. The taste is much drier and woodier than expected with a slight saltiness and an intense creamy toffee note. Extremely tasty, elegant and complex!
