How does this rum taste?
The Royal Rum 10 Years is crafted in Guyana by XM, known for selecting and bottling quality spirit. Distilled from molasses and aged in ex-bourbon barrels with a sherry cask finish, this rum offers a compelling aroma of vanilla, dried fruit, and brown sugar. The taste is smooth and round, with notes of vanilla, tropical fruit, and a pleasant sweetness. While its bouquet is well-regarded, some find the finish brief and less inspiring. Perfect for casual sipping, it appeals to those who appreciate a straightforward, uncomplicated rum experience. Ideal for both new and seasoned rum enthusiasts, this rum provides a genuine yet modest profile, available for purchase on RumX.

This rum is produced, by Banks DIH in Guyana, or more correctly aged, blended and bottled cause they don’t any cane fields or stills. They nowadays buy their bulk rum from Trinidad and Barbados. It’s first aged in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished for six months in former Sherry casks. The aroma is great and at the palate it’s more than OK, but the finish is weak and short.
"Weird mix between an English and a Spanish, without much flavor, sounds like a diplomatico. To sum up, my tasting notes: On the nose: Caramel In the mouth: Round, Molasses Finish: Sweet".
Nothing spectacular. Perfectly basic rum.
Parmis les pires jus que j'ai pu goûter.
