Plantation O.F.T.D. Overproof

I do not know what to say here. Actually yes only to mix there, but I am extremely surprised how well the rum can drink pure and at this price.

Wonderfully fruity blend that you do not notice its high alcohol content negatively. One of the best value for money, both in cocktails and neat.

If you want something extra strong and you can drink it without mixing, this Plantation O.F.T.D. 69% ideal choice at a favorable price 👍

I had to check twice that this bottle is only 20-25€. What a bargain! Clearly a Navy Rum and balanced really good. I find the Guyana parts most present, follow by Jamaica and a bit vanilla and wood from Barbados here and there. Looking at my empty bottle I think I should get another one. Or a case.

Nice rum! The very low price and low confidence in low-end Plantations had me a bit conditioned. Strong, but really enjoyable with its crisp chocolate and coffee aromas!

One of the coolest mixers for a reasonably priced CubaLibre. I would always prefer a Captain Morgan, Bacardi, Havana Club etc. Almost unbeatable for the price. There are of course better rums, but not in this price range. Pure is simply not his world, but it's not really made for that.

For me, by far the best overproof rum in terms of PLV. Top mixability, even pure relatively good drinkable and simply a bank in X drinks that require dark rum as an aroma bomb. Also makes the hottest Feuerzangenbowle ever 😂 I celebrate this rum ! Hopefully the recipe remains as it is!

A lot of fun for a few pennies. Lots of alcohol flavour with chocolate. But the taste surprises with overripe bananas and pineapple. The alcohol is surprisingly nicely integrated and the finish is long and warming. A nice choice for a mixer, but doesn't offend on its own either.

Buuh The impact of the alcohol is overwelming. I have to say the alcohol is the 86% monster of rom deluxe is less notable than in this one.

On a second tasting with some water and longer time in the glass, I find this rum much better. After the alcohol is gone, there is mainly caramel, roasted flavors and chocolate with fruit. In the mouth, it doesn't really go undiluted. Very sharp alcoholic. It remains roasted chocolate and fruit.

Top PLV Overproof for mixing and as a starting rum. Powerful and wide-ranging aroma.

BAM! You can taste the alcohol. The other flavors flash through a little. Chocolate, coffee, raisins. I like it, sometimes a glass neat, a blast in a cocktail. Unbeatable value for money.

It stings on the nose! Like a cognac nose, rum raisins, woody. Pungent on the palate too, sharp, doesn't fulfill all the promise of the nose. Rum grapes, woody, lots of vanilla, but not as balanced as the nose. Short finish. Watts, but lacks balance and especially depth.A little water calms the beast and makes it more balanced. Interesting.Tasted again and more interesting than the first time.

PLV absolute grenade. Normally only used as a mixer, but have just made the pure tasting.For this price a super bottling.76/100
