Rum Nation Versailles Demerara 1985
Highly praised classic Versailles: balanced, elegant and aromatic with cherry, coffee and dried fruits. A refined, easy-drinking Demerara that rewards slow sipping rather than raw power.
Fans of classic Demerara who enjoy refined, lower-ABV sippers with cherry, coffee and dried-fruit notes rather than big, aggressive power.

How does this rum taste?
Elegant, relaxed old-school Versailles
If you enjoy elegant Demeraras like El Dorado single stills, this is a smoother, nostalgic Versailles that trades intensity for balance and easy sipping.
Those chasing high-ABV intensity, very long finishes, or loud funky profiles; drinkers wanting a powerhouse cask strength experience.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Nice Versailles but fades very fast
14.04.2012 First visit to the Whisky.dk event after returning to Denmark after first living 3 years in Upplands Väsby, Sweden and then 7 years in Shanghai, China. Got back together with old friends to have a nice weekend. Notes. Dark in colour. Nose: wood, roasted, orange, cherry, licorice. Palate: balanced, light, cherry, coffee, berries. Finish:medium long, wood, coffee, dried fruit, herbs.
Výborný rum, výrazná vůně a jemná chuť
