The "1998" was produced in Jamaica at the Clarendon distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Origin R.. It was distilled in 1998 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 16 years. The rum has an ABV of 60,3%. 20.07.2019 Nice private blind tasting where we put tinfoil around the bottles we brought. That ended up being a great evening. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, complex, fruity, varnish, ester, light floral, pineapple. Palate Warm, spice, wood, fruity, pineapple, faint varnish, ester, light vegetal. Finish Medium to long, wood, fruity, ester, fruits, faint chocolate.
Le nez est fantastique. On y revient volontiers, c'est fin, gourmand, complexe. Du fruit juteux à gogo, un peu de vernis, une blinde d'ester bien Jamaïque. En bouche ca envoie, mais ca reste une belle coupe de fruit frais. Ananas, mangue, que l'on retrouve dans une fin de bouche plus discrète. Un très bon rhum.
