How does this rum taste?
Hamilton 86 Demerara River gets frequent nods for bold notes of Demerara sugar, tropical fruits (pineapple, banana), caramel, and some funk—"reminds me of mesquite wood and Texan barbecue" (Zach) and "oak barrel and a little Jamaican funk" (Mark Leggett). The palate leans roasted and woody, with a thread of tobacco and occasional flashes of spice or a slight metallic edge. Many RumX drinkers enjoy it both neat and mixed, with several noting its solid role in tiki drinks and side-by-side with El Dorado offerings.

A good mixing rum, this rum is well suited for tiki drinks with its ester and tropical fruit profiles working well with typical tiki ingredients. You get pineapple, banana, ester, and some nail polish on the nose. The taste has tropical fruits, esters, and some spice, followed by a medium finish with spice and a little caramelization.
A very decent guyana rum, before el Dorado changed it's recipe this was the mixer you desperately wanted in Europe. It is a solid and nice product that shines in the cocktails. Nowadays Eldorado really is my preference
Guyana that you can drink or mix better. The alcohol stings too much in the nose, which should be gone with the right amount of cola. Lots of cask, wood and sweetness. Caramel and some tropical fruit on the palate.
