How does this rum taste?
- Smooth and balanced
- Complex flavor profile
- Cognac cask finish
Abuelo XV Napoleon rum, produced in Panama by Varela Hermanos, incorporates traditional craftsmanship with a cognac cask finish for a unique profile. Distilled from molasses using a column still and aged for under 14 years, this rum presents an intriguing mix of flavors and aromas, such as caramel, vanilla, woody and dried fruit notes. User reviews appreciate its smoothness and balance, although the notable sweetness, attributed to added sugars, is a point of contention. Its complex profile, reminiscent of both sweet and woody characteristics, makes it an interesting choice for diverse palates. Ideal for sipping or paired creatively with complementary flavors like salted chocolate. RumX users find its mix of traditional Panama rum elements and cognac finishing both appealing and notable.

"Overly sweetened! Can not be called rum, as it has 35g/l added sugar."

"02.10.2016 - 03.10.2016 A great extended weekend with rum friends. This was a nice event and lots of space between the tables. Only problem was the level of English at some of the exhibitors. Here are the rums we tasted at the event itself, nothing truly unique but we had fun. This is the second half of the tastings. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, fruity, peach, light floral, vanilla. Palate Sweet, wood, roasted, spice, fruity, dried fruit, light caramel, berries. Finish Short to medium, wood, light chocolate, caramel, sweet."
