Clairin Sajous

A great rum! You can feel the initial strength of the alcohol, but the aromas that come after a while are well marked and you don't have to sniff the glass for too long. A firm, old-fashioned rum. On the palate, in addition to a fruity and vegetal component (where olives stand out), this aftertaste of solvents/esters never unpleasant stands out. Very long finish where in turn all the previously perceived flavors are felt. Predominant on the finish is a hint of peat/smoky always accompanied by solvents/esters.Unique!Velier nailed it! Long live Velier!

This last tasting from my bottle I, like Vavala, let it rest in the glass for a long time. The aroma is beautifully rounded, there is even a hint of eucalyptus. A little more volt is noticeable, but it is just as drinkable as its 49% counterpart.

What a rum. Madness! And in the cocktail it is also convincing. Quite great cinema.

I haven't had a lot of time to add reviews lately and now I'm really far behind. This Clairin is one of the best ones I've had so far! The nose basically explodes as soon as you pour the glass. Fruits, herbs, grass and sugarcane are there pretty much instantly closely followed by spices. The palate is warm and fruity with cinnamon, grass, herbs and sugarcane followed by light licorice. The finish is medium to long with herbs, grass, apples and cinnamon. Price to quality is very good.

Very nice rum, more accessible than other Clairins. Grenade in daiquiri and also delicious as Ti Punch

Pure... Not so much, but shines in a Daiquiri it seems.

A superb Clairin, very expressive.

The nose is strong and reminds me of other Haitian rums I've tried. It's fixating, with notes of sugarcane, olive and a vinegary pickle. The palate is more vegetal than the nose and has a good amount of spice mixing with olive and some engine oil. Very dark and bitter finish but I like it. There's smoky, nutty notes lingering with tar and sometimes like iodine. This is only my second Haitian rum but I starting to think it might be something to explore after this. Very good stuff.

Excellent Clairin, grassy-floral with pronounced aroma of sugar cane. Complex and surprisingly light.

After the smell, the taste is surprisingly sweet and spicy. The balance is not prrfect, alcohol a bit too harsh.

Solidní nestařený clairin, jako sipper spíš pro znalce, ale v koktejlu výborný. Ve vůni i v chuti tráva, cukrová třtina a další rostliny, podle mého asi nejpříjemnější ze čtveřice běžně dostupných clairinů (Sajous, Vaval, Casimir, Communal).

Rougher than some clairins and distinctly spicier, it has a distinctive profile.

strange... the batch with 55.9% is much better in my opinion and especially fruity and harmonious. here it is already almost burnt, something medicinal, iodine and salty, plus vinegar and tar. unfortunately does not quite meet my taste... the one with 55.9% on the other hand is a dream!

The funk is for real in this one. It might not be for everyone, but it is for me. The smell is fantastic; it reminds me guarapo juice with lime (sugarcane juice), for newcomers will suggest either lowering down the alcohol with water when trying neat. Mix with whatever you like, Coconut water or lime juice.

Exceptional. I love it, it's really my favorite. Ahah. It's impossible not to be a fan of this aroma!
