How does this rum taste?
- Excellent cocktail mixer
- Versatile infusion base
- Clean, neutral flavor
Carta Blanca is a traditional white rum crafted at the Bacardi distillery in Puerto Rico. Distilled from molasses and left unaged, it offers a crisp, neutral base with hints of lime, grass, and sugarcane. Our RumX community highlights its sharp, medicinal character alongside a clean, almost vodka-like finish that makes it perfect for cocktails and infusions. While many appreciate its versatility and subtle sweetness in mixed drinks, some note that its strong alcohol edge and lack of complexity may not appeal to neat drinkers. Overall, it remains a practical choice for those looking to experiment with cocktail recipes and enjoy a dependable mixer.

"Blank rum for mixing in cocktails or cola. Pure rather not, because very thin and medicinal."

"Not much to the nose. Citrus fruits are most prominent but its very background to the alcohol sharpness. The palate is very sharp but does have sugarcane notes along with some toffee and smoke. The finish is very short but that might be a good thing with this rum.....Sorry Bacardi. This could be something for mixing and, when you take price into consideration, if you only drink mixed drinks this could be a bargain. Not for the neat drinkers like me though."
