I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
30.08.2019 A nice evening with good friends and a few rums. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Light, faint roasted wood, fruits, plum, light caramel, faint chocolate. Palate Light roasted wood, plum, faint citrus, light coffee, faint chocolate, medium dry, faint coconut. Finish Medium long, light wood, faint coconut, medium dry, light chocolate, faint caramel.
Decent rum on its own. However, compared to some CS Travellers bottlings it can not hold up. Watered down all too heavily - masking its destination character.
Reminds me very much of the Companero Extra Anejo only that this one is somewhat more subtle in chocolate flavor. Much more than pleasant, roasty chocolate flavors can the rum but then unfortunately also not.
Medium coconut note.
