This is a wonderful Agricole from Bielle. The nose is truly Agricole with overripe fruits, caramel, honey and vanilla once rested. The palate is also fruity and warm with spices, caramel and light medicinal and smoky notes. The finish is long and dry with caramel, spices and again a light smoky touch.
Bielle 1998 - 45 A few days ago, I had the opportunity to taste this rum, but my first impression was disappointing: it seemed very closed, both on the nose and on the palate. I didn't want to leave this mixed impression, so I decided to keep half the sample for a second tasting a few days later. For this new attempt, I used a glass specially designed for good aeration, a generous gift from @roberto. And what a revelation! I discovered a completely different rum. The nose was magnificent, with aromas of licorice, spices and menthol. On the palate, the sweetness of a well-reduced, perfectly balanced rum was immediately apparent. I rediscovered those famous menthol and vanilla notes, accompanied by a bewitching sweetness. Many thanks to Cédric Ferchal for this wonderful discovery and for sharing this bottle.
