"Wow, this is the hammer. Despite its age this is a complex rum and it needs water to release all the flavours as well as remove the sting from the ABV. The nose is molasses, plum and wood from the start and then leather, caramel and herbal notes. Without water the ABV will clean your nose. The palate oily, very complex and balanced with molasses, smoky wood and fruits trailed by spices and light medicinal and herbal notes. Without water it will bite you and with water it really opens up. The finish is long as in very long and complex with molasses, wood and spices. A great rum!"
