Ok now we are getting into the slightly more premium side of Karukera as this bottle will set you back about 100€ today. Lots of wood and barrel on nose and palate. Well-integrated alcohol. ABV is just right here, not sure it could support more but definitely wouldn't want less either. The bitter note, which I'm starting to suspect is a Karukera signature, is present but is much better and more enjoyable than in the 2009 select cask. Very noticeable caramel. Medium to short finish. Price to quality is mediocre, but it's a very enjoyable rum nevertheless.
Beau rhum concentré très boisé et long en bouche. Une belle réussite.
