What a super Agricole! A wonderful mix of a variety of aromas of fruit, industry, wood, grass, chocolate and leather. The finish is dry and long. I'd love more bottlings like this! Thanks @Thunderbird for the sample.
what a blast ... am not the big Agricole fan but that's ne other league !! incredibly GEIL !!!
Today the direct sibling comparison of the two Robert Peronet's. The 2000 is somewhat more restrained on the nose, but more elegant. In addition to the fruit aromas, a sweet vanilla note emerges. There is also some nougat and baked apple. The palate is creamy and soft. The alcohol is very well integrated. In addition to the recurring vanilla note, barrel and gentle bitter aromas develop. Then a fruitiness of cherry/grape and dried fruit, wonderful and complex. Once the finish is on the tart dark side, dried fruit is added late on. The 2000 is first-class Agricole
9,2:On the nose, the first impression we get are dried and orchard fruits like dried apricots, dates, apples and grapes, reminds us on cognac. The sugarcane is fresh with tea, herbal and flowery, as the wood is roasted and spicy with vanilla, baking spices, caramel. After airing the rum, tropical fruits like mango and red come out, the cane is a bit waxy, perfumed, the wood more roasted with nuts, chocolate, fruitcake and a bit smoky.Very complex, but round. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is strong with tar and spices, as the sugarcane is juicy, mineral, peppery. The wood is roasted, spicy with caramel, vanilla, becomes charred quickly with dark chocolate, nuts, more balanced and a bit resinous, some bitterness comes with the resin. The fruits ared dried with apricots and raisins. After resting the rum, the sugarcane is herbal, floral and fresher with some tea, red fruits show up... 8,9:The finish is long, as the sugarcane is fresh, grassy, minty and floral, a bit waxy, the wood is spicy, roasted, dry and tannic, pleasantly smoky, a bit resinous and we could notice some pine. The fruits are dried and red.We find the finish a bit dirty and tarry..
