How does this rum taste?
Opthimus 15 Años from Oliver & Oliver leads with crème brûlée and vanilla on the nose, rounded out by subtle fruit and honey on the palate. RumX reviewers call out that it's "very round" (Louis Clavero), "not bad, more refined" (TheJackDrop), with a gentle, lingering spice. The sweetness is present but not overpowering, while some find the finish "ultra short" and the overall profile on the lighter side. Think of it as a smooth, approachable Dominican rum with a soft touch.

It does not smell bad at all, but in the mouth thin and stale. Guest rum.
Good good good Not much to say it's not bad, it's finer, balanced, not too sweet. Now, apart from vanilla and a few bonus notes, there's not much, and above all the finish is ultra-short.
Typical sweet representative from the Dom Rep. Nothing special, but very round. A little spicy in the mouth, but mainly sweet. There are many other vintages in the Opthimus range, but I don't expect any major differences. I'm beginning to wonder what the difference is between the ranges (Opthimus, Quorhum...) of O&O anyway: probably none and pure sales strategy.
Excellent. Great example of DR as one of the really good places to find quality spanish style rum.
