I went to Sol Cabo Verde and picked this up among others. It's the most common grogue on the islands. In the nose a lot milder than the unaged version. Honey. Some oak. Bit of apricot. Far from the dirty vegetal notes. Interesting. No info about the aging time... Taste: a mild bitterness. Lots of mandarines/oranges. A subtle woodiness. Very easy to drink. A tad less interesting than the unaged version. Miles apart in taste.
Vacation Cape Verde April 2024 I like this grogue very much. It has a pleasant, mild nose in which you can smell burnt sugar. The palate is also very mild, fresh and you can taste the barrel. You can hardly feel the 46%.
And the last rum from Cape Verde for today. This rum tastes quite good to me...is also relatively sweet again but you can already taste roasted almonds here...the smell is very mild but still very solid.
unfortunately a bit thin and not particularly complex, somehow it also reminds me of a mixture of mezcal and sake? but it makes a very solid, relaxed Ti Punch!
