“Wenn man schon ein alter Mann ist und einen Rum verkosten darf, der noch älter ist ... Schon allein das Öffnen des angegammelten Schraubverschlusses (!) war ein Abenteuer (und Kraftakt). Lieblicher Traubenduft schlägt einem nach dem Öffnen entgegen, am Gaumen setzt sich dieser Eindruck fort, wenngleich nicht ganz so kräftig aufgrund des damals üblichen ABV von nur 45%. Aber der Alkohol ist sehr gut integriert und lässt den Rum auch nach über 60 Jahren noch seine ganze fruchtige Aromenpracht entfalten. Dieser Rum ist wie eine Essenz. Ein Traum aus einer anderen Welt.”

“Ich bin dankbar für diese Sample eines 70er Jahre Rums. In der Nase Lakritz und etwas Kakao, typisch für die alten Demeraras. Im Mund dann schöne Balance und viel Tiefgang trotz der nur 45%. Mir fehlen Vergleichsmöglichkeiten aber wir sind hier auf hohem Niveau unterwegs. Im Nachgang bleiben die Aromen länger im Mund. Auch keine unangenehme Wässrigkeit wie bei anderen Rums auf Trinkstärke von 45%. Toller alter Demerara”

“Vielen Dank an zucker & zeste für die Gelegenheit! Saumäßig spannender Vintage Rum mit trotz nur 45% überraschend viel Körper und Komplexität. Gefällt mir sehr gut! Klar könnte der paar % mehr vertragen aber in der Zeit wo der abgefüllt wurde waren 45% schon außerhalb der Norm... Wirklich ein schöner Tropfen!”
