"#4612 09.02.2024 Nordlichter treffen. This one could be a good mixer I think. Nose Light wood and roasted notes, fruity, vanilla, light nutts, faint polish. Palate Light oily, wood, light roasted, fruity, light herbs, caramel, warm. Finish Medium long, warm, dried fruit."
"Had a friend who went to Babados recently and brought 1.75L plastic bottle of this home. It's about what you would expect from a Foursquare of this price range. A solid rum primarily made as a mixer but is perfectly fine to drink neat if you wish. It's nothing amazing but it's got a nice nose on it. Quite dark in colour for only 5 years of aging. Taste wise there is a nice sweetness, fruits, spice, vanilla and some wood. The ideal everyday mixing rum."
"Tasted at the Nordlichter Treffen - thanks, Henry! I hunted this rum in vain in my early rum days. Wes described it as the young Foursquare with the highest potstill content. That's what I wanted for my drinks. In my opinion, I can actually taste the higher potstill content compared to the Doorlys 3 yo. This one is rougher with light esters and not quite as creamy and smooth as the Doorlys. The typical coconut note is missing here, the nuts are more like almonds or hazelnuts. I like these young bajan rums, this one probably wouldn't have been worth the hunt."
"Kellerfund. Definitiv ein typischer Vertreter aus Barbados und auch typische Foursquare-Noten erkennbar. Das Preisniveau macht sich aber definitiv bemerkbar, der Rum wirkt dünn, scharfkantig, unrund. Vielleicht was für die Cola, pur brauche ich den aber nicht nochmal."
