This is a delicious still strength rum/aguardiente distilled in Oaxaca and bottled in the U.S.. Red fruit and plantain on the nose and slight grassy-waxy-funk, with a buttery coconut aroma when I reach for it. The palate is full bodied with good viscosity more fruit, but the slight funky waxyness and vegetal note is more present. The finish stretches out and a note of minerality and with pockets of cinnamon and petrichor show up along with a touch of the fruit. It’s not as hot as the proof would suggest, but it’s close enough to warm you up or add some zipp to your next daiquiri.
