Heavy Trinidad Rum HTR

Tous simplement merveilleux ! Le meilleur caroni, le meilleur rum que j'ai dégusté jusqu'à présent. A ma petite échelle, ma référence caroni !

This is a great Caroni and you know as soon as you open the bottle. The flavours just come at you right away. The nose is elegant and typical Caroni with tar and rubber trailed by flowers, fruit, caramel and a hint of mocha and cinnamon. The palate is spicy and complex and very well balanced, again with the typical Caroni tar and rubber trailed by fruit, wood and a slight hint of menthol. The finish is forever and lightly dry with fruit, tar and wood spices. I recommend leaving the empty glass and then nose it after a few hours.

Franconian Tasting Gang goes Tiki Edit: For me, as I haven't had that many Caronis in my glass, this is simply one of the best. Both this one and its buddy from the hangar. Many thanks to Jakob and DomM for pulling these fine wines out of the hat for us at the tasting.

Mein erster 92er Caroni. Die Nase beim einschenken hat bereits einiges vermuten lassen. Am Gaumen dann Geschmacksexplosion. Richtig fettes Teil ! ❤️

A Caroni nose but with lots of fruit (apple, acerola, pear), tropical fruit and a Demerara side with old leather, old varnished wood and smoke. Silky, frosty entry, then fruit invades the palate. An aromatic bomb. Ripe tropical fruit, but also pear and apricot, menthol and herbs. Hints of machine shop are present, but in the background. There's an incredible freshness to this rum, reminiscent of frosted mandarin oranges. A long, majestic, rich and coherent finish (the kind of rum you can still smell when you wake up in the morning). A magnificent rum that lives up to its reputation, balanced in flavor and better than its little 55% brother.

Great nose! Complex on the palate, somewhat typical dirty Caronino notes, which are very well integrated! Long finish! Fantastic! Epic Velier Caroni Tasting: insane complexity, power, must be a 92, long finish. For me, the Caroni Champions League!

For me, the best of the 1992 Velier Caroni series. Insane profile with the dirty notes, lots of spice, wood and some fruit. Beautiful balance and mega depth and complexity. Definitely one of the top Caronis.

Hier bekommt man Caroni Essenz.... Hoch konzentrierte, intensive, tiefe und komplexe Nase. Viel Möbelpolitur wie bei 96, aber auch dreckige Aromen, die man aus 98 und 2000 kennt. Viel süße, Honig, Vanille, Karamell. Im Gaumen eine Geschmacksexplosion, unglaublich mundfüllend, ölig und süß. Selten hatte ich einen Rum, der mich geschmacklich so zu überzeugen wusste. ERGÄNZUNG: Ich finde ihn immer noch richtig gut, es ist für mich allerdings nicht mehr die Nr 1, so wie das man war. Der Rum hat schon eine extremen Reifegrad, worauf man wirklich Bock haben muss. Es gab Tage, an denen mir das auch mal definitiv too much war. Trotzdem ist das natürlich nach wie vor hohes Niveau!

Grandiose Caroni from my year of birth 1992, very complex, balanced and elegant. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Papaya, cinnamon and sandalwood come together aromatically on the nose. Mint, menthol, cinnamon, caramelized apricots and red berries with cookie dough crumbs like a delicious peach crumble. An almost endless finish. Great! Thank you Oli!😃❣️

Rarities Tasting #5. And what a Caroni! In Tokaji Aszu wine, there is the particularly concentrated Aszu Eszencia. That's just what this is, a 'Caroni Essence'. Everything you would expect from a good (tropical) Caroni, only more concentrated, and all in a lovely balance of dirty and fruity notes ! My express thanks to Jakob!

An outstanding Caroni. Top balance between balance and complexity. Relatively dry, but super tasty. Tar, leather, mint, menthol, tropical and red fruits, stewed fruit - all in a very good interplay. Very, very tasty.

Was für ein toller Caroni. Hier sind wir wieder in der absoluten Spitzenklasse. Schwer, ölig, ausgewogen, und komplex. Der Alkohol ist extrem gut eingebunden. Die angenehme Süsse mit der kräftigen Minze rundet das ganze ab. Top Caroni!

Quite close to the 18 years old FP version but we can feel the additional aging. Indeed, nose is slightly darker and palate feels a bit less funky and fruity than the "Cow" despite being already more funky than the nose. Same conclusion here, astonashing rum, probably one of the best I ever tasted ! 🖤🤍❤️

O,5cl im 1920s Blenders reichen, um in den Caroni Himmel zu kommen. 🤩 Benzin, Teer, Fahrradschlauch in epischer Pracht. Fisherman’s Friends. Dahinter reife Mango, etwas Zitrus, Eiche und Gewürze. Kräftig und ausgewogen. Zum Niederknien!! Im Mund holzig, ölig und harzig. Ich nuckle an der Zapfsäule.☺️ Und dann noch ein langer Abgang. Frisch, holzig-würzig und Fahrradschlauch. Phänomenaler Caroni!! Würde sagen, da hatte ich noch keinen besseren. 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 Vielen Dank nach Bonn für dieses Megasample!!
