Samaroli Demerara Dark Rum 1991
Highly praised old-school Demerara: complex roasted wood, caramel and light dirty notes with a balanced, medium-long finish. Reduction to 45% is seen as well done and approachable.
Curious explorers who like balanced Demerara sweetness with a touch of dirtiness, light tar and leather, and prefer characterful but not cask-strength bottlings.

How does this rum taste?
Dirty-edged, approachable Demerara classic
If you enjoy characterful Demeraras or lightly dirty Caroni-style notes at moderate strength, this is a great way to explore that profile without jumping straight into high-ABV monsters.
Those sensitive to bitterness or expecting a clean, fruity profile; drinkers who dislike dirty, tarry notes or want very sweet, modern styled rums.

29.03.2014 Whiskymessen Met a few new rum guys that have stuck until this day. We all went back home to pick up some bottles that we shared at the event. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, wood, light roasted, vanilla, pineapple, light caramel, anise. Palate Balanced, light, wood, roasted, light caramel, faint mint, herbs, plum, light anise. Finish Medium long, light, wood, light roasted, faint mint, herbs, light caramel.
In addition to the roasted aromas, the nose also has some dirtiness that is slightly reminiscent of a Caroni. There is a lot going on on the palate for the low ABV. Wood, leather, licorice, some tar and rubber. I like it very much.
Auto-translatedTrade fair impressions from the 14th GRF in Berlin 2025. Very nice KFM with typical markers and successful reduction.
