Karukera L'Intense 2016
Most enjoy its authentic cane, freshness and value; critics find the alcohol too dominant and finish short. Consensus: a solid, characterful high-proof white agricole for those comfortable with intensity.
Agricole fans and adventurous drinkers who enjoy raw cane, grassy profiles and aren’t afraid of a punchy 60%+ white in ti’ punch or robust cocktails.

#4080 Again a great bargain when looking at what you get. A very fresh white with very good ABV integration. Lightly fruity with cane and vegetal notes. Draws pretty nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some copper and grass.
7,7:On the nose, it presents us with an authentic rum, full of terroir and character. The bagasse and earth are as impressive as they are dreamy, transporting us to the middle of the sugarcane fields, unvarnished, machete in hand. With a stroke of the blade, the honey reed splits and splashes a peppery, fresh, and sweet juice, the fruit of the earth, water, and sun. There is something mineral in it, but also very floral. And then, without us realizing it, here is a generous cane that pours its sweet and fragrant juice. Forget the work in the fields, we are in a dreamlike journey of a cozy and graceful flow, sugarcane flower in the mouth. On aeration, we are now in the shoes of the cutter who has kept a piece of cane to chew, like a tropical treat. The plant fiber is crushed to exhaustion, its sweet heart resembling a syrup. The nose achieves a delightful balance with a little time, between dry and mellow, peppery and suave, a very beautiful snapshot. 7,6:On the palate, the attack is silky and warm, and ultimately quite surprising given the announced strength. The cane is velvety and floral, then becomes increasingly spicy as the heat rises. At its zenith, the rum is sparkling and rather sharp, a coppery sensation wiping the taste buds and resetting the palate. The descent is on a more intimate side, with less graceful but endearing and authentic fermentation notes. 7,4:The finish is vegetal, on bagasse and straw, with a slight bitterness of lime peel and a light minty breath...
