How does this rum taste?
Fans praise the powerful yet balanced wood, spice and cherry-mineral profile; critics find it a bit over-oaked. Consensus: a top-tier, demanding Bally for serious agricole drinkers.
If you already enjoy mature Bally or other aged agricoles, this one pushes the wood, spice and mineral side further while keeping the alcohol in check—challenging but very rewarding.
Beginners, those sensitive to higher ABV, or drinkers who prefer sweet, fruit-forward or lightly oaked rums with an easygoing profile.

#5843 11.10.2025 Visiting the Whisky Live Hamburg 2025 event. It was the first of its kind and went off pretty well. They still have to learn a lot about running an event like this. People were allowed to bring backpacks and even cabin bags to the event and that is a problem in my mind. A very nice and well balanced release. Fompared to the Whisky Live Hamburg 2025 reease, this one is less spicy and more mineral in the profile. Wood and ABV is well balanced with the fruits, sugarcane and light leather. Peppery palate with some added cinnamon.
Auf der Whisky-Live 2025 verkostet: Gelungene Abfüllung vom WDC. Wunderbares Aromenspiel: Angenehme süsse mit Kirsche und roten Beeren, die dann in eine würzige Note übergeht. ABV sehr gut integriert.
Rhum powerful, but not too brute, rather like a concentrated distillate that combines the essence of sugar cane, spices and wood. The high alcohol content creates a wonderful texture and helps the Bally to spread throughout the mouth. Aromatically, the Bally is definitely demanding, but not overwhelming.
More on the woody, spicy side. However, the kish note is also very strong and holds its own. It has a very charged effect, you have to be into that. A little menthol is added with water.
