Wow, what a slap in the face! This latest cuvée from Soleil de Minuit is a deep, dark rum. A stratospheric nose (for my taste), oscillating between a briny, clairin-like cane, notes of green bananas and prunes. The palate is suave as can be, with plum, candied fruit, yellow lemon zest, orange peel and red fruits. The finish combines the freshness of licorice, menthol, wood, light spices and the sweetness of orangette. A masterpiece!
