How does this rum taste?
RumX members love Letaba’s high-ester, fruit-forward punch at cask strength. Expect overripe banana and pineapple on the nose, wrapped in woody tones and allspice, with the alcohol and oak impressively well integrated. Reviewers at Whisky Live call it intense yet balanced and pleasantly spicy. A limited run of just 135 bottles, and early feedback from around 10 reviews suggests a distinctive Mhoba worth seeking out.

#5746 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This was another of my hight lights at the WL 2026. A nice ester bomb with a lot of fruit and floral notes. ABV and wood really well integrated with some nice spicy notes.
A rum tasted at Whisky Live Paris in 2025. A vegetal and woody nose, fruity (very ripe pineapple) and estery, with a good deal of spice softened by the bourbon cask. The palate is lively, woody with fruit, vegetal, sweetness and dried herbs. The finish, unlike the Skukuza and Letaba, is well-balanced and tasty. My favorite of the three, and proof that Mhoba has improved a lot in recent times.
