Velier Hampden Collection Itinéraires <>H 2017
Highly praised high-ester Hampden: explosive tropical and red fruits, funky glue notes and well-handled 67.9% ABV. Dense and expressive with medium finish; considered among the standout recent Hampden releases.
Seasoned funk lovers who enjoy cask-strength Hampden with big esters, overripe tropical fruit and a touch of red berries and marzipan, especially fans of earlier Habitation Velier-style bottlings.

How does this rum taste?
Explosive, funky Hampden fruit bomb
If you enjoy high-ester Hampdens or Savanna HERR and want something younger but seriously dialed up, this delivers that wild fruit-and-glue combo with strong yet controlled cask-strength power.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV, or drinkers who dislike solventy glue/varnish notes and intense acidity in their glass.

#5710 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This one hit the nail in my mind. Again my favourite mark and this one is pretty good and the price tage is pretty good. Very fruity and lots of esters mixed with some glue and light marzipan. Warm yet well balanced on the palate with faint marzipan and natural sweetness.
A rum tasted at Whisky Live in Paris in 2025. A nose of overripe fruit, glue, varnish, citrus and fresh, stewed fruit. A perfectly balanced nose, despite the esters. The palate doesn't start out too strong, then all the fruit and other aromas rise. Exotic fruits are in full force here. The finish is rather short, with most of the aromas fading away and a few lingering for a long time.
Auto-translatedAmong the fine discoveries at Whisky Live 2025, this Jamaican rum stands out. The perfectly controlled alcohol gives way to powerful aromas: rich, funky tropical compote, supported by an unexpected hint of red fruit and strawberry. A captivating, gourmet balance.
Auto-translatedTasted together with DomM at a small sample swap. Unfortunately missed ordering one. Thanks to BananaJoe for the slightly larger sample. In contrast to the Hampden from WL Paris and WL Hamburg, I don't think it can quite keep up. But not much is missing.
