“Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Sehr runder Caroni, dem auch die leichte Reduktion auf Navy-Strength nicht geschadet hat. Der Rum bringt die 96er Süsse in Perfektion zum Ausdruck, dazu klingt Gummi, frisches Eichenholz und vorallem eine präsente Würzigkeit aus Kaffee, Pfeffer und Nelke an. War lange Zeit ein noch gut erhältlicher Caroni-Vertreter aus 1996, hat aber mittlerweile „aufgeholt“ und zieht auch preislich an - hier darf aber zumindest festgehalten werden, dass die Qualität im Glas absolut zu überzeugen weiss. Ein exzellenter Vertreter des m.E. ohnehin herausragenden Jahrgangs 1996.”

“Definitely a good rum but mouth is quite disapointing with some pepper / chilli notes which are quite disturbing. Alcohol integration could have been better as well for the nose. What a surprise for a diluted version of "Trespassers" bottling, one of my favourite Caroni 👀”
