Durch die 24jährige Reifung wurden hier alle Ecken und Kanten abgeschliffen, sodass ein runder und gefälliger Rum entstanden ist. Der Port Mourant-Charakter ist klar erkennbar, allerdings hat sich beim längeren Aufenthalt im Mund eine eher untypische, dezente Whisky-Nuance entwickelt. Keinerlei Torfrauch, jedoch eine malzige Apfelnote, die ich sonst eher einem Speyside-Malt zuordnen würde. Könnte noch ein bisschen mehr Ausdruckskraft haben, aber ansonsten ein echt feiner Tropfen!
Guyana sehr auf der süssen Seite ohne Spuren zu hinterlassen. Ordentlicher Rum aber für das Alter hatte ich mir ein wenig mehr erwartet. Bleibt etwas simpel zurück ohne Überraschung. Da geht es deutlich komplexer. Taugt aber zum easy sipper, wenn man das bei einem Guyana-Rum sagen kann
