How does this rum taste?
Añejo 15 Años is a Cuban rum distilled at the Mulata distillery using molasses and a column still, then aged for 15 years. With an ABV of 38%, it offers aromatic notes of vanilla, raisin, and caramel. The palate reveals flavors of caramelized sweetness, light vanilla, and dark chocolate, culminating in a medium finish that highlights oak and light tobacco. While appreciated for its complexity and affordability, some find its lower alcohol content limits depth. This versatile rum suits both sipping and mixing.

Spanish rum with enviable value for money. Complex with good facets where in addition to vanilla there are fragrances of chocolate, barrel (very pronounced) and cigar that give it a stronger character. One flaw is its volatility on the palate (derived perhaps from low alcohol content), but it surprisingly compensates with a long finish thanks to the strong woody/smoky note . Some perfumed notes remind me of Caroni rum. Rating increased after last tasting. Definitely overproof would be splendid!
Amazingly dry, light rum, vanilla, wild honey, wood, unspectacular starter. Alcohol could be slightly better integrated. Certainly good in a long drink.
Ein leichter Sipper für Einsteiger
This was the last one tested at the mixology and there was a huge span in the scoring due to individual "likes", which there should always be room for. The nose is sweet and fruity with oak, spice and caramel. The palate is light and sweet with fruit, oak, spice, caramel and light chocolate. The finish is medium long with oak, vanilla, chocolate and light tobacco. The empty glass has a very nice nose after and hour after finishing it. I'd probably use this rum for a mixer as well.
