This release from HARREL is based on molasses from Cuba and is the second release in the Spira project. The project started up with an unaged rum 2024 and is now released as a 1-year old rum 2025 and it will be followed by a 2-year and a 3-year old release the forthcoming years based on the same distillate. I got the opportunity to taste it at Sweden Rumfest 2025. Aromas, flavors and the rather long finish is powerful, fruity and spicy with notes of citrus and vanilla with some funkiness. The difference compared to the unaged release is mostly the taste is richer and a little rounded.
