I rarely drink spiced rums but after getting aged rum that I've been wanting to try for awhile the bartender gave me a free sample of this spices rum for me to try. Thinking, ok, free rum, I'll try, I was SHOCKED! It's the first spiced rum I've ever have liked! It's more on the dry side vs sweet! The aroma, I could smell it all day from the Glencarin. The clover and gingerish smell was next level, not something I expected for spiced rum. Make me think of clover gum and candy ginger. Then the flavor of clover gum and smoke. I have no idea where the smoke flavor comes from but is there. With a fresh finish. I asked and it's made from their unaged silver rum, which surprised me for how smooth it was. It might end up being first spiced rum I'll buy a bottle in decades. If you are at the distillery or near, worth stopping there to try it.
