I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Considering the price tag at release this is a very nice rum. From opening the bottle you get the ester and fruits and once rested the flavours just sneak across the table. Intense, fruity with nice ester and glue notes, light wood with spices. In the empty glass i can pick up faint chocolate notes. Oily on the palate and it draws really nice curtains in the glass.
For its young age an excellent rum... it offers everything you expect from a Jamaican with this mark! Top!!
These sherry finished Jamaicans are not worlds apart, but I dig it. In this one, the sherry influence is somewhat less, according to my impression. In the mouth it comes across a bit spicier, the wood influence is well noticeable despite the young age. For me a little weaker than the comparable newer bottlings with lower mark
the PX Sherry Cask maturation is initially only noticeable in the color, the fat esters set the tone, but after a while in the glass also come red fruits and spicy notes, more then still on the palate, with a toasty finish. So really can pick me up the combination then but somehow not...
